I was hoping you can help me...I was dating someone for a long while we were separating and as I was leaving he committed suicide in front of me ever since than I have had weird things happen cold breezes when I'm in the shower and there are no vents and no windows ...the phone calls and nobody's there just dead air than a click and hang-up...I have always felt my whole life like I'm being watched and like there is someone standing behind me all the time ....I have always threw my life seen shadows and had this feeling like someone is about to walk by a door ..it's a odd feeling
can this be something or am I just crazy?

oh and I wanted to ask you I'm really good with numbers like if someone is gambling and asks me for lets say 3 numbers I get this weird feeling like fuzzy and voices in my head and they whisper them to me ..but it's 95% always right ...is it just me or is there something to this?.

Your ex boyfriend was mentally ill, or he would not have committed suicide. I am so sorry he did it in front of you. That was very cruel.

Trust your instincts. You did not say how long ago this happened, but he still could be earthbound.

It is very hard for a person that committed suicide to cross over. In a lot of cases sometimes years.

Have the house blessed by an ordained priest or minister. Also you can smudge your house with sage or sweet grass. This will make him lethargic and you will not feel him around you.

Very cool with the numbers. I have no clue who would be doing it.

Sounds like you need to go to Las Vegas and check it out!

Good news you are not crazy, but you really do not want this spirit hanging out with you. Sprinkle some sea salt on the floor in the front and back seats of your car.

About six weeks ago, while sat in my living room when I got this very strong smell. I can only describe as a woman's perfume.

I could even taste it. this do not happen very often.

But it happened again in the garden twice 30 minutes apart. I rushed into the house to tell my wife, she could smell it on my clothes and breath,.

My wife seems to think it's a sweet smell, like Lillis. Something a more mature woman would use.

When you smell a certain scent and it is pleasant, it is usually a spirit that has crossed over.

A lot of times a person can tell who the person is by the scent, ie- Mom always wore lilac cologne. Dad always wore Old Spice after shave. Cigar smoke, is Grandpa around?

In your case, it is a scent you did not recognize as belonging to a relative.

Ask family members, if they knew someone who wore lily scent, Or was there a forgotten relative by the name of Lilly?

Check out previous owners of your home. Ask older neighbors if any of the ladies wore lily scent, or raised lilies in the garden..

Do a little investigating. The good news, she has crossed over and will not cause any problems.

My name is Cherie and I live in Cincinnati, Ohio and I am terrified to die. I watched my Grandmother, Maude, take her last breathe when she died of Lung Cancer about 4 years ago and it was horrible. I asked her to send me a sign when she dies to let me know that there really is life after death and she said she would but has not. I really need to KNOW for myself that there is life after death. I am happy to answer your questions but, I am not a medium or a physic. I am a paranormal investigator. James VanPraagh is a physic medium.

Cherie, I think a lot of people are afraid to die, it is the unknown. Especially when you have children. You want to be part of their lives forever.

Anytime that you have a dream of anyone that you knew who has died, they have crossed over.I would be very surprised if Grandmother Maude is earthbound. Cancer patients are very aware, they are dying, everyone around them knows. Toward the end of their life they are so tired. They are more than ready.

It does not hurt to die. I have talked to thousands of spirits. They have all said the same thing. It does not hurt to die. Sometimes working up to the death, illness or accident is painful, but not the actual act of dying.

Grandmother Maude is not missing a birthday, wedding, etc. At the next family event say out loud- Grandmother please come visit me in a dream. Sometimes all you have to do is ask! Then you can see for your self.

First let me tell you that I absolutely love Ghost Whisperer! I never miss an episode.

Secondly, I know that you answer questions on your blogspot - and I have one for you.

Ever since I was little I have been able to see spirits. My first recollection was seeing my paternal grandfather right after he passed. I was about 5 years old.

When I was in elementary school I hated playing in the field behind my house, because all of the spirits would come out and talk to me. I would run home crying and lock myself away in my room.

As I grew up I saw the spirits fewer and fewer times. Now I see spirits on two occasions:

1) as they are dying or shortly thereafter (within minutes/hours). I have witnessed numerous murders. The most notable was my Dad's best friend, John Hand. This was the first murder that I witnessed in real time. Most of the time I witness murders in my sleep. I feel that I am being shown this so that I can help either solve crimes or cross people over ?? I'm not sure. I have information in relation to his death that I want to share with the police, but I'm afraid they will think I'm crazy.

I also see people shortly after they have passed, when they have died from sudden accidents or natural causes. A few months ago my boyfriend's great aunt came to me and started chatting away. I had no idea who she was, and I couldn't even get a word in edge wise. Within 3-4 hours my boyfriend's mother called to say that the great aunt had passed from cancer earlier that day.

2) Mostly in dreams, but also in "real life" they come to talk to me and ask me to convey messages. The most recent of these has been a co-worker who passed who had messages for family/co-workers, and also my grandfather who has messages for family. I have tried conveying these messages to my family, but they think I'm crazy. My Mom believes me but she is so freaked out by what I can do that she doesn't like to talk about it.

I won't tell you about every ghost that I've ever seen - but I will leave you with one last story.

On February 13 2007 a co-worker of mine dropped dead of a brain aneurysm. Later that night she began visiting me.

It was then that I realized I had a special gift. I knew that I have visited this "place" before but it wasn't until Brenda died that I really grasped what it was.

I have the ability (in my dreams) to visit a place where spirits of those who have passed on, and those who are alive can congregate. I'm not sure what this place is but I call it "heaven" for lack of a better word. A few months ago I discovered that I can also take people from their bodies and bring them with me. This is all in my dreams, and I seem to have no recollection of how/why I am doing it. Just that I can.

My grandfather had a message to give my mother. I remember hovering over her body as she slept, I tried to take her from her body - but she was stubborn and would not go. Have you ever heard of such a thing? In recognizing what this place was, I realized that I have visited many, many times since I was a little girl. Oftentimes I don't remember actually being there, but I remember when my spirit "flys home" and I re-enter my body.

I realize that I have some ability to communicate with those have passed on, but thus far it has been random and not of my own choosing. Is there a way to harness this ability, so that I can use it at will - to help others? I am absolutely fascinated with this gift, and I am disappointed that I cannot use it at will. I am always thrilled when a spirit comes to speak to me (either in dreams or real life) and I would love to use that gift to help others and learn more about "the other side"

Do you have any advise for me?

Children see spirits, but most of them lose this the older they get. You it seems, retained some of this ability.

What your experiencing is precognitive dreams. Your are getting information about the future psychically and in dreams.

You are also astro wandering. You do not have any control over it, or understood how it is happening, but this place you are going to is not heaven. You are not dead. It is a gathering place for earthbound and crossed over spirits to meet and have astral visitors.

Hello to you! A psychic in our home said that there was "buried treasure on our property",I know this sounds silly,but....the former owners of our 1870 home saved everything and kept money hidden all throughout the home..she said the wife was "wary of unsavory neighbors" and dug holes to hide her precious goods, counting her steps and keeping a map of sorts as she did so. The auction for their estate sold everything, and the psychic said the map was written in a bible or plat book..She was accurate in many other areas,so I do believe there could be hidden things..However, I am not interested in the greed aspect, I purely want these things to be unearthed as they deserve to be discovered..They were family to my husband, and the home has been in my husband's family since 1870. The psychic stated to use a dowsing rod or the dangling string method( I forget the proper name) to receive direction in the places... I do not understand why the psychic just did not tell you when she was at your house!

You could of course, invite her back over for more information.

In my opinion the wife was your husbands, great, great, great, or great-great-great grandmother. If there was any treasure and she wanted him to have it, she would find a way to get the information to him.

We moved to England 5 years ago and have since moved back. But within that time, my 2 grandmothers passed over. One did so while we were visiting the USA at Christmas time, she had already been taken to the hospital and was unaware I was there. The other passed the following year while we were visiting once again. I miss them dearly and I wanted to see if you could contact them to see if they had any messages for me or any other loved ones I know. My great Aunt also passed but she did so when I was back in the UK. These women were a big part of our family and are truly missed. I feel I let them down in some way by not being near when they were alive. Can you help?

I am not a medium. I can not talk to ghosts that have crossed over. You can get your answers however yourself.

The next time you dream of one of them you can have a conversation with them. Get a herb called mugwort. Make a little sachet out of it , and place it between your pillow and pillow case. In about three weeks you will remember your dreams. (Do not let children or animals around mugwort).

I do not think the ladies have held it against you for living out of the country before or when they died.

Hi Mary Ann,

My mother passed away July 21, 2000. When mom died, she smiled after her last breath. That was comforting. We don't know who she saw, but we hope is a great feeling of love she felt. I am her youngest daughter. She passed when I was 24.
We think we saw signs of her before her funeral. Her dog, Toby, barked at a shadow the day we were choosing her clothes for the funeral. When I went back to work (rather soon), I saw my mother's face wake me up and she said my name plain as day. One face was one that I remember from a picture, like she was 35 years old. The other was of my mom when she was healtier but older. She only woke me twice, once as my young mother, the other as the healthier older mom.

About a month ago, I was lost in the internet. Just surfing. And I felt something or someone poke me on my lower right side of my back. A tattoo to honor my mother is there. She saw it before she passed. Do you think she was saying hi? This was a serious poke right on the back. So, I said: Hi, mom. I love you.

How lucky that you are to have so many recognized visits from your mom. So many people would love to have just one of these signs!

Her smile when she died shows me that she was very happy to see someone. Your mom would not have crossed over till after the final ceremony at the cemetery. It is very possible that you saw her before. Seeing your mom younger and healthy is another sign she is at peace.

Of course she was saying Hi, moms always come and visit, and they really do not miss too much. As long as you talk out loud she will hear you!

I have had this question for years and had no where to turn. My first love and husband was always very attached to me spiritually. When I remarried, the new husband didn't want me to have any connection to him, and I regrettably agreed. The first husband died as a result of a motorcycle accident and I never got to say goodbye. The turd I remarried, is now out of the picture and long gone without ever saying goodbye. I am sorry for your loss, but when you sense your dead ex-husband around, just talk to him out loud and he will be able to hear you. He can not read your mind, that is why you have to speak out loud.

Or you can speak to him the next time that you have a dream of him. People do not realize when you dream of someone you can have a great conversation.

I'm very confused and somewhat frightened. For the past 2 weeks, i have had messages on my phone 3 times that baffle me. It sounds like when the television is off channel and snowy, but i can hear a man's monotone voice speaking behind the noises. I can't make out what the man is saying. At first i thought it was some kind of recording that wasnt working properly, but i happened again yesterday and this morning. My caller ID says " Unknown name and Unknown number ". It has happened each time when i am not at home at different times of the day.

I have lost several family members over the past few years. My daughter has been going through a lot of serious issues lately. I'm wondering if all of this might have something to do with all of the pain and anguish we've been experiencing over the last few months.

It sounds like the earthbound ghost in your house really wants to get your attention.

There is no way I can tell if it is a family member or not, but I doubt it. A family member would not want to cause problems for your daughter and you.

Here are two suggestions that should help.

First- Have the house blessed by an ordained priest or minister. DO NOT get holy water and sprinkle it about yourself. This will not help.

Second- Get a smudge stick. This is what Native Americans used to cleanse their living areas. You should be able to find smudge sticks at health food stores, some book stores, or any good metaphysical shop. Follow the instructions in the package or ask where you buy it how to use it.

It will help calm the house down.

On days when you find pennies who are you thinking about? Or who did you dream about the night before? Did someone save pennies?

Same thing with the butterflies. Who liked the outdoors? Who had butterfly dish towels? When you were visiting at the cemetery, or at a funeral during a burial did you see butterflies?

My sister and I love the Ghost Whisperer and we are both looking forward to the new series of shows this fall.
I have a few questions I would like answered.

First, My parents are both deceased and were divorced and my Mom was the one who didn't want anything to do with my Dad.
My Mother died several years before my Dad. They both died of cancer, but, the day before my Dad died, my sister showed him a picture of Mom and Dad when they were married and our Dad had such a look of happiness on his face, the next day he passed away. We knew the end was near, but, we didn't think it would be the next day. Did my parents reunite in heaven?

My husband had an uncle who we were very close to, he lived far away, but, every year he came out to visit us, We live on a farm and he loved the farm as he was born on the same farm. When he passed away, he wanted his ashes spread on the farm, his daughter granted his wishes. The day we spread his ashes, we had thrown the ashes into the wind and only my ashes that I was spreading came back to me, it was very odd as we were throwing them into the wind. do you suppose that was our Uncle telling us how pleased he was that his wishes had been granted?

Last fall, we had a neighbor and friend help round up cattle on horseback on our farm, he had helped us many times before, Curtis was a born cowboy and was riding his own horse. Well to make a long story short, he had a horse accident and hit his head and had extensive brain damage, He was on life support for 5 days and his family had decided to take him off. He died 5 days after the accident, he was 26.
Did his soul leave his body that day in the pasture or in the hospital? He was a very Christian young man and we know where he is now.

Your parents did reunite, and because he was smiling when he saw her picture I bet that she was there in spirit to help your dad to die and then to crossover.

All ghosts are pleased when their wishes are followed and they usually give some sort of acknowledgement. Your uncle must have been ecstatic!

How tragic that Curtis was so young, but it sounds like he died loving what he was doing. His spirit would have left his body the day he had no brain activity, which would have been the day of the accident.

We live in Houston Tx. I bought a brand new house in 2003. We used to hear slight noises of someone walking in our attic but we ignored it in the beginning.

Now after 2 years in 2005 my son Zain was born. Six months after his birth the toys were turning on by themselves and the pictures were falling from the walls.

4 months ago my second son was born and the same thing but worst things are happening.
Now the bed shakes in the night. My kids get scared as well. I had a person exorcist me as he said I was possessed by this female ghost. Anyway, things are still the same. Now it even grabs our (me and wife) hands and sometimes freezes our voices to be able to speak (just started).

Bed is still shaking all night and sometimes kids are scared as well.

From what you have described happening in your house you do have at least one, probably two earthbound ghosts, one of them is likely a child ghost.

I have no way of knowing from your letter about the accuracy of your possession, but it seems if this was so the exorcism did not help. If money was exchanged for this exorcism I would ask them to try again or give a refund.

I hope you can help with this very offbeat question: Do you believe or feel that's its possible for a person to "pick up" a disease from a close loved one (mother, to be exact) who has died from a very painful death of cancer? Symptoms, subtleties, etc.? I guess it might almost be a question of possession of sorts... really dont know how to explain this... I too am a psychic, and need some guidance from someone who is more "medium" experienced. I googled my questions online and found almost nothing, until popping onto your site. I do hope you can shed some light, or at least give me some direction... if you have ever heard of a person "taking on" another dying persons physical symptoms, or other things, as a sort of "clearing" that person that's dying, please do let me know. First of all I am not a “medium”. Mediums can see and communicate with ghosts that have crossed into the light.

I am a paranormal investigator. I see and talk to ghosts that have not crossed over,--but I can certainly answer your offbeat question.

No—you can not pick up a disease from a ghost, a ghost can not give you a disease.

However if an earthbound ghost gets right in a living person’s space, constantly being with them twenty four seven, the live person can begin to exhibit the same symptoms of the disease that the ghost died from.

This is not a possession. That is something completely different. Possession are very few and far between, one in thousands.

Another problem that could occur with earthbound ghosts in houses, adults could have unexplained headaches, lower intestinal problems, or sinus problems. Children could have a lot of ear, nose, throat, or upper respiratory problems.

A live person who takes on the physical symptoms of a sick person (not just a dying person) is called an empath. A lot of healers have this ability , which can give relief to a sick or dying person.

Remember you have free will, this is a decision a person has to make, to accept to do this kind of work.

My son Nathan died on his 26th birthday from what the coroner said was a freak type blockage. Needless to say I have been devastated. Gosh two very important dates in your sons short life. Birth and death and they happen on the same day! Having children myself I am so sad for your loss. You did not mention the dates so I could not check for you.

My question:

Is it true that people who have committed suicide do
not get to go to the afterlife? So many times, in
certain religious environments, I have been told that
if a person is to end their own life they will not be
allowed in to the afterlife and will spend eternity as
a lost soul.

My father committed suicide at the age of 42 after
battling, for several years, a debilitating lung
disorder. (I was 15 at the time and am 35 now.) Upon
learning from the doctors that they would not be able
to "fix" him and that he would die an excrutiating
death he decided to end his own life.

I just want to know if it is possible that he could be
in the after life. He was a good person and he didn't
want himself or his family to have to go through the
pain of a prolonged horrible death.

This has been an issue that has plagued me for the
majority of my adult life. I have dreams of him
often, that he is near but does not want to see me or
talk to me and it is very upsetting and leads me to
believe that he may not be at peace. I told him at
one time to stop coming into my dreams if he would not
talk to me...I stopped having them for several years
but recently I am having them again.

I have good news for you. You did and are again having dreams of your father. He has passed over, he has gone to your belief of the afterlife..

If he had not crossed over you would not be able to have dreams of him. Earthbound ghosts can not come into dreams.

He may feel that you are unhappy with him for committing suicide That is why he would not converse with you. The next time you have a dream of him tell him how you feel about his death. You will be able to resolve this issue with patience and time.

In my teen years I had an incident in my home (grandma's house was adopted) in the basement hearing a clicking noise and once I found it the pillow moved up on its own and I ran upstairs and literally felt as if something went thru me.

Since then it seems as if what ever that was or is, it has followed me. I get that same feeling and at times have heard that clicking noise (but never look for it now too scared) and the feeling of this presence. (not a good one)

I am not crazy nor really believe in this kind of stuff but know that it is real in my own life. What ever it is it's not good and it frightens me enough to where I am petrified when I am alone. If you could advise me on what to do I would be so appreciative.

In addition I am now 36 years old and have moved a great deal in my life and I do believe it has followed me.

What you experienced in your grandmother’s house could have easily happened. However no one ran thru you. When an earthbound ghost is very, very close to you, right in your space, that is what it can feel like.

You are not crazy. A ghost can easily follow you from house to house. In all honesty who is going to stop them? I can for certain say that this ghost has followed you, because the clicking noise the ghost makes is very distinct. Not many do that so it has to be the same one.

Here are two suggestions that may help.

First- It never hurts to have your home blessed by an ordained priest or minister. DO NOT get holy water and sprinkle it about. This will not help.

Second- Get what is called a smudge stick. This is what Native Americans used to cleanse their living spaces. You should be able to find smudge sticks at health food stores, some book shops, or any good metaphysical store. Follow the instructions in the package or ask for instructions where you buy it.

I'm sure this doesn't seem weird to you but I am just wondering. My dad died February 18th, 1997. Now I was very close to him and I even felt when he passed. I had a hard time dealing with his passing and everyone else's since. Today me and my husband took my mother out to eat. I started thinking about my dad and then I smelled his smell. I could have sworn he was right there with us. As soon as the smell passed the song 'Callin All Angels' came on the radio in the resturant.The beginning line of that song is ' I need a sign to let me know your'e here' in which I was then covered in cold chills and almost cried. So could it have been possible that he dropped in on us for a brief moment?

How lucky that you got such a great sign from your father. He is at peace and content, but waiting for your mother and you.

I am sure that he is around more than you realize, but sometimes they want you to really know it!

Kristy- Two year old daughter

My 2yr old daughter just recently has been talking about the man in my house or she will say the man is comming. I really wish I knew what she was talking about but when I ask her questions about this man she tells me everything in detail. I asked her what the man looks like and she tells me . I am thinking it is someone I know but it is no one I could think of. Rylie ( my daughter ) says she isnt allowed to tell daddy about the man only mom and her nana, but out of no where she will say the man is here mommy and come hug me tightly. I try at that point to get her to do other things but she just repeats the man is here , the man is here. Rylie will talk in long talks to no one early in the morning. She will tell who she is talking to about her babies and about her brother. Please if you could help me help her I would love that.

Rylie is doing what all children can do, talk to ghosts and interact with them, usually this will stop around five or six years of age.

I would normally say do not worry about it, but what has me a little concerned, is that she said that she is not allowed to “tell daddy”! A ghost that has crossed over would not say that, so why is this earthbound ghost being so sneaky?

Kristy is there some one from your past that you were close to and he died, so he does not want your husband to know that he is around?

Unfortunately I can not tell you for sure from a letter, but because your children are young I would make these two suggestions.
